Once this wind dies down -Friday, Saturday and Sunday should be perfect to spend out by the body of water of your choice.
MAUMEE RIVER: The wind and the rain over the last week or so has the Maumee river muddy up pretty good. Catfish have been pretty easy to catch just dropping a worm on the bottom. We are starting to see some smallmouth action in the river. For the smallmouth try throwing some of those Top water Baits. Or live crawfish -those things are magic since it’s full-blown summer they’ve hatched and the fish are feeding on them naturally.
LAKE ERIE: We have seen some good catches out on the lake as far as walleye are concerned-when the boats can get out . However due to the steady highish winds and the rain the last few months , close into shore is pretty muddied up so most boats are having to travel out a bit of a distance to get past the mud line. Spoons and crawler harnesses have been working very well.
MAUMEE SHOP: The river is at the perfect level for kayaking downstream. Stocked up on all sorts of fishing gear and plenty of live bait.
GRAND RAPIDS SHOP: Same here -in the beautiful town of Grand Rapids the Maumee river’s at the perfect level for some weekend kayaking. And we finally got a little minnow l tank to try and keep shiners to add to our live bait menu. Grand Rapids also has a full stocked showroom of kayaks at blowout prices stop in and check them out.
LAKESIDE SHOP: we are open daily at 6 AM, Fish cleaners available every single day. A fully stocked tackle shop, to include beer, wine , snacks and lottery. Got some kayaks here too
Our Bait menu at all three shops includes crawfish, leeches, wax worms, nightcrawlers, green nightcrawlers, red worms, and minnows, minnows, minnows.
