MAUMEE RIVER CONDITIONS-13 JULY 2019- SMALLMOUTH ARE BITING -KAYAK SALES AND RENTAL OPENING TODAY!

Maumee River

We have been seeing the smallmouth bass bite pick up in the last few days. A few caught around the Jerome rd rapids, some near the 475 bridge in sidcut park and those that waded over to Bluegrass island hit a few as well.  Throw a spinnerbait tipped with a small piece of worm to juice it up a bit.

We have seen the catfish bite remaining steady, Orleans ad White street  have both been productive catsfish spot. Sorry but we are out of shad  for bait right now, they have been uncharacteristically hard to catch.  Try some big juicy worms, those seem to have been doing the trick .

Lake Erie

Trolling bite still going on SE of Kelleys, dumping ground off Cedar Point and NE of Kelleys. You can pull spoons, Bandits or Worm Harnesses. Speeds varying 2.0-2.7. Perch fishing has been fair at best. You will catch a handful while walleye fishing. Those targeting perch are finding some between Kelleys and South Bass but they don’t seem to be real schooled up yet. But size of the perch has been good.

KAYAKS SHOP OPEN TODAY

We will have a couple different packages that will be available for rental . Part of our rental program will be including day trips on the Maumee River with transportation to a variety of pick up and drop off locations . So there will be no need to worry about how you will transport the kayak, or where you will go; we have it all figured out for you to make it as hassle free for you as possible. Along with renting kayaks, we will be selling a variety of both recreational and FISHING kayaks. At this point we are starting with the “Jackson Kayak” line of products and we are working on adding Pelican, Perception, and Wilderness Systems kayaks as well.

We sent the girls out yesterday on a recon trip of the river, at the todays levels it is a beautiful trip down the river. Keep any eye out for bald eagles , saw 3 yesterday.
