Lake Erie:
Man it has been a good start to the Perch season. Of course that means a shortage of minnows, not us, not today.
Perch flies, hooks, Minnows, crawfish, worms, leeches. We are fully stocked up.
Some days you have to sort through all the dinky Fish, just toss all those under 7 inches perch back, let them grow up. Beside that all the local fishcleaners machings just eat and mangle those dinky fis and you might not get a sliver of meat back.
Have been hearing good perch reports all around the intake out there by Buck shot’s bait and tackle. Also the Walleye bite has been steady out on the lake.
It’s mid August so fall night fishing off the piers on Lake Erie is fast approaching.
We got an early jump on it this year and we are stacked up with all your favorite bombers and crank baits that you need for a successful night on the pier, get them now while it’s early. Not two hours before you’re trying to go out in November.
Maumee River
Well we finally got some water in the river, it’s up and running. That’s good for fishing and kayaking both.
The extra water is gonna give us a nice couple weeks of catching catfish and smallmouth bass. Also with the water levels up these fall walleye and steelhead trout are gonna get activated and start moving around.
Stop in here at the shop so you can get some early tips and tricks to get into those fall fish.
As soon as it gets cold those walleye and steelhead in the river will turn on.
Have fun, be safe and good luck fishing.
