Yesterday was windy and cold. The day before that was cold and windy. This morning it’s both.
A few anglers that went out yesterday reported a decent amount of hook ups, however it was very difficult to feel the bite, and extremely difficult to land the fish that wind blowing your line sideways, white caps, etc.
oh well that’s the nature of the Walleye Run in the spring.
Today the wind won’t be as bad but still gusting at times.
Where is the TOWPATH?
We get a lot of questions as to what and where is the TOWPATH. For much of its 9-mile length, the Towpath Trail traces the Maumee River. It traverses three parks as it follows the former Miami & Erie Canal (circa mid-1800s). Was used to tow barges with freight and passengers via mule power back then.
In our fishing section here in Maumee it starts at White street and goes on up to Side cut park-just to the tip of Bluegrass island. A nice long stretch of river full of walleye.
Berkley Powerbaits are great to have in your arsenal – Xmas lights and Firetiger are top two.
