Look at what young Mr. Coffman pulled out of the river yesterday–well done!
We have had a stretch of weather that has created some very good river fishing.  Depth, current and water clarity are all major factors that affect the distribution and concentrations of walleye. High waters and raging currents will not be attractive conditions this time of year. At times like these walleye will seek refuge in slackwater areas, so waiting till the current has slowed down , like it is right now, is the more sensible option. The mouths of feeder creeks can often offer plenty of action as rains will wash fresh food and water into the river, keep an eye out for crappie in these areas as well. If our not getting any bites find an eddy and try presenting a slip-bobber with a minnow a little above the bottom.
