Maumee river report- 30 April 2022–last day of spring spawning rules

Good Morning Grand Rapids! We open our secondary location “Maumee River Outfitters” this morning at 9am . We offer kayak rentals & sales here; along with selling fishing gear, kayak accessories, live bait, fishing/hunting licenses, and watercraft registrations!

Tomorrow , May 1st, the spawning rules in the Maumee are lifted – the limit of walleye is still six.  White Bass in lake Erie and its tributaries (Maumee river) has no limit .   Tomorrow multiple hooks and  night fishing is permitted .  However still no snagging

Colors- Red head /Xmas light tail tail,    Orange head/ Firetiger tail,     Black head/ pink tail,     Pink head/ White tail,    Black head/shimmer shad tail.

Once it warms up today we will see a significant improvement in the bite . 

If you want white bass try White street, Orleans park and along the Towpath.

For walleye go to Blue grass, Jerome  and Buttonwood.
