The last four or five days have been really good fishing. we did have a break in the action Sunday morning with the cold and the rain but that’s okay the water we got helpped bring a nice big push of fish in. Right now we are mostly seen 16 to 20-in jacks being caught, a few of the smaller females mixed in there as well. Orleans Park ,White Street and the towpath have still been very good as those are the areas where the current slows down just a little bit and those fish like to lay up to catch a breath and spawn while out of that big heavy main current. With the sunshine the brighter colors have been working good, White tails, pink tails, green sparkler tails, and yellow have all been very productive. Today the temperatures are moderate, but tonight it looks like it’s going to get cold again which tends to slow the fishing down a little bit, but that’s okay we don’t want that River to heat up too much. Remember the spawn is all based on water temperature once that water gets too warm bam everybody spawns like crazy and they head back to the lake and the white bass come in. Now don’t get me wrong I love the White Bass run ,it’s a blast, but I’m hoping for another solid 3 weeks or more of smashing these walleye. So far it’s been a very good run and like I said the last few days have been really good fishing.
