Hey hey hey! Looks like today we start to warm up, looking like the next few days will at least be over 50°. That should start to warm the river up a little bit and get some action sparked. We got spoiled last year with the walleye run being in full swing and on fire by this time. This year, with the very cold winter that we had .spawning is running just about on time. That’s the beauty of it ,taking what mother nature throws at us and getting some fun out of it.

A few walleye were picked up yesterday. Man that river water is still very cold so the walleye are not really in there yet.

Myths and Realities:

Myth:

Live bait is not permitted during the spawning run.

Reality: Live bait is allowed and can be effective, especially on slower days. A juicy piece of worm on a leadhead can do the trick when all else fails.
