maumee river report- april 30th, 2025- last day of spring rules

Last day of daytime fishing restrictions and the single hook rule. 

Tomorrow you can use rooster tail style lures with treble hooks , and multiple hooks , watch the video on the Maumee tackle special. Also night fishing will be permitted 

Fresh batch of emerald shiner minnows

 

	Waxworms ­ Soft, Plump, and Packed with Appeal Waxworms are a go-to bait for panfish and trout, thanks to their soft texture and irresistible movement. Their creamy, plump bodies make them a tempting treat that fish just can’t pass up. Long-lasting: When stored around 60°F, waxworms can stay fresh and lively for up to 6 weeks.

 

This year the average size of the white bass are right around 1.5 -2lbs..nice size fish.  Last year was consistently small fish mostly half pounders.  So things are looking better already.  Dont forget the state record is 4 lbs–so make sure you weigh those big ones–you might be the next champ.

Lead head with a green or white twister tail. The paddle tail baits are working really well this season.
