MAUMEE RIVER REPORT:
WATER LEVEL- 585.3 NO CHANGE FROM YESTERDAY
TEMPERATURE- 69 DEGREES
CLARITY- 8″
EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE HAD VERY LITTLE RAIN YESTERDAY HERE IN MAUMEE THE RIVER LEVEL HASNT CHANGED. THIS IS BECAUSE FT. WAYNE, INDIANA GOT SOME SIGNIFIGANT RAIN AND ALL THE WATER HAS MADE ITS WAY DOWNSTREAM TO US.
AGAIN YESTERDAY WE SAW SOME GOOD CATCHES OF CATFISH , SAW PICTURES OF SOME OVER 20LBS TAKEN. THEY ARE BITING WELL ON NIGHTCRAWLERS, LEECHES AND MINNOWS.
LAKE ERIE REPORT:
Western Basin
Walleye
Where: Walleye have been caught south of the Gravel Pit, west of West Sister Island (within 2 miles), around Gull Island Shoal, and around Kellys Island Shoal.
How: Anglers trolling have caught fish on spoons behind divers and on worm harnesses with inline weights or bottom bouncers. Anglers casting are using weight forward spinners or mayfly rigs.
Yellow Perch
Where: Yellow perch have been caught near the Toledo harbor light, south of the Gravel Pit, west of West Sister Island, near the turnaround buoy of the Toledo shipping channel, between Rattlesnake Island and Middle Bass Island, north of North Bass Island, and off the Marblehead Lighthouse.
How: Perch spreaders or crappie rigs with shiners fished near the bottom produce the most fish.
Smallmouth Bass and Largemouth Bass
Where: Smallmouth bass have been caught along the shorelines of the Bass Islands. Largemouth bass have been caught on the main lake shoreline around Catawba and Marblehead, and in harbors in the same area.
How: Bass have been caught on tube jigs, crankbaits and drop shot rigs.
