Mark your calendars for Saturday July 13th! We here at Maumee Bait and Tackle are incredibly excited to announce the official launch date of our expansion, as well as the beginning of our kayak rental season. In honor of this announcement we wanted to take the time to tell you guys about what you can expect in the near future. As you may already know, we purchased the building and have expanded our shop making it double the size. We decided to take this opportunity to bring in kayaks, since we now have the necessary space. We will have a couple different packages that will be available for rental “sit-on†kayaks depending on what your needs, and desires. Part of our rental program will be including day trips on the Maumee River with transportation to a variety of pick up and drop off locations . So there will be no need to worry about how you will transport the kayak, or where you will go; we have it all figured out for you to make it as hassle free for you as possible. Along with renting kayaks, we will be selling a variety of both recreational and fishing kayaks. At this point in time we are starting with the Jackson Kayaks line of product and we are working on adding Pelican, Perception,Wilderness Systems kayaks as well.

This option allows you to rent a “sit on top†kayak which is the safest boat possible, and helps to create an enjoyable stress free trip for you. We will supply you with everything you will need, including a life jacket, paddle, as well as transportation to your drop off and pick up location of choice.Â

“Float Around†– Trip Rate $25.00
This is a great option if you’re looking to try out kayaking for the first time, or just want to be able to go and explore some of the local islands located in the Maumee River. This is a 3 hour rental for a fee of $25.00 dollars. That once again includes your life jacket, paddle, and transportation. For the “float around†option we will drop you off at Orleans Park and then pick you up at Orleans Park 3 hours later.Â

This option allows you to rent a kayak for a full day at a set cost..While we still provide a life jacket and paddle, you are responsible for the transportation of the kayak from the shop. The earliest you can pick up your kayak is 7am, and you must have it returned to the shop by 6:30pm
