Wow what a great weekend we had. Despite the wind, rain ,  wind ,the sunshine and the rain, there was quite a few walleye caught.

The water was very low all weekend. So the three main areas to hit fish were Jerome Rd.Rapids, blue grass Island, and buttonwood Campground. Today with the water on the rise we may be able to spread out to those three areas as well as the  towpath and Davis overlook.

The wind was a big factor over the weekend , it made it tough, otherwise we would’ve seen a lot more fish than we did. Since it was cloudy and overcast most of the weekend,  darker color tails like black sparkle, purple sparkle, motor oil, and Christmas lights were all working very well. Paired with green, black and glow-in-the-dark heads. Should be about the same day today.

Seeing as it’s a Monday, and a beer drinking holiday as well , fisherman pressure on the river should be relatively light, However the fish don’t know that so they will be in there pretty steadily.

We are getting an awful lot of questions about the parking situation, simply put it’s only a couple small sections of side streets that are restricted, none of the main parking areas are affected. So come on in, there’s plenty of space for everyone.

We are keeping a close eye on the river level as it rises today, we didn’t get much rain here in Northwest Ohio however Fort Wayne where the river originates got it pretty good ,so all that water is finally making its way towards us, which will bring a big push of walleye this week.

 Be prepared.

Have fun, be safe and good luck fishing
