It’s cold. It’s been cold a long time.

The rain that they’ve been talking about for a week is most likley not gonna hit us in the dramatic way that the weatherman has been broadcasting. However ,if we get a little bit of rain it should help break up the ice that is still on the river. For example the Maumee river from Grand Rapids, above the dam, to Napoleon Ohio is still pretty much iced over. Once that breaks up and slushes down through the river we should see some action .

The only walleye we have seen come out of the river so far was last saturday , couple of residents caught in the bluegrass /buttonwood stretch of water.

We are fully stocked up with floaters, twisted tails, leader line, spool cuts, fishing rods and reels. All the St. Croix rods that are appropriate for the area. River anchors, nets, live bait, worms, wax worms, minnows. And one of the main things we have in stock is knowledge, stop in anytime and we can point you in the right direction, even give you a little class to complete your education  and make your fishing trip  successful . Even if you’re an experienced angler, tackling the walleye run for the first time can be tough. There’s a few little tips and tricks that we can pass along to make sure you catch some fish.

In the meantime… we wait.

Have fun, be safe and good luck fishing
