Probably not a good idea to attempt to get to Bluegrass island today . Some rain hit us, and Ft Wayne last night – river is on the way up. Now remember ,yesterday the river was bout 3 ft low, so throughout the day the water will come up about a foot and even though it will be still at a crossable level it may be moving fast . It’s easy to lose your footing when it like that. Exercise caution, especially first thing this morning.
Yesterday was pretty awesome out on the Maumee- earlier the sun was shining and light wind so it was actually comfortable out fishing for a change. While not everybody got into some fish we did see ones and twos taken from just about all the access areas.
There were anglers wading out halfway cross the river at Orleans to pick up some limits, also fish taken from Jerome rd rapids, over at Bluegrass Island, and Davis overlook.
Weight – 5/8 to 3/4 oz
Leader- 4-5 ft
Colors – Green head/white tail, orange head /pink tail, white head/ green sparkle tail, firetiger head/firetail

Lets see what this rain, wind and temp drop do to the river and the bite . There is a ton of walleye in the river right now but havent been very active up until now.We are looking for that next push of fish. As the river comes up today that extra water should make a big difference.
All access areas will be fishable . today . Should be able to get a better drift just about everywhere. The last two days the water was so low and slow that everyone was moving down to 5/8 and half ounce weight. Today 5/8 and 3/4 should do the trick.
Have fun be safe and good luck fishing
