Bang! Nice Pike!
With the heat of the summer there hasn’t been as much activity during the day Fishing wise. The heat drives them to the bottom and make them lethargic throughout the day. So the last few days we’ve been heading out for the night bite once things cool off. As you can see we’ve been having pretty good results. Mostly Catfish and bass, but we’re pretty happy with this monster Pike.
this rain and cooler temperatures the last couple days is bringing the river level up so I’m anticipating some good smallmouth bass fishing and maybe even a Walleye or two leading up to the weekend
Often night fishing produces bigger fish because prey species become active after dark, triggering feeding behavior in bass, catfish , and other gamefish that avoid daytime boat traffic, fishing pressure and heat.
