MAUMEE RIVER REPORT:
WATER LEVEL- 584.0DOWN 6 ” FROM YESTERDAY
TEMPERATURE-Â 70 DEGREES
CLARITY- 7″
This weekend is predicted to be very hot and humid . Sunday a chance of showers after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.  Seeing as we hadn’t had any rain in a few days till yesterdays afternoon storm (the guys here at the shop did an anti rain dance) the waters have begun to recede. The river is still 2′ above normal but slowly getting to a good fishable level . We still recommend fishing those slack areas along the edge of the current to find those river cats and resident walleye. Saturday we did see some nice hybrid bluegill brought in and reports of lots of catfish biting.
I went out too the river Saturday for a bit and caught smallmouth bass on all sorts of rigs, leadhead with a night crawler, minnows under bobber, crank bait with a slow retrieve and on the Maumee Tackle Spinners that we make here at the shop.. With the water coming down they seem to be really active.
Lake Erie Report:
Western Basin has settled some in the last few days. Reports of clear water near West Sister island and getting into some perch limits also in those areas.
The walleye bite is about the same as the previous reports with trolling spoons and worm harnesses being the best method to hook into them.
Have a great weekend , be safe and good luck fishing.
