Maumee River Report:
LEVEL-580.5
TEMP- 42.0 degrees
Barometer: 30.25  inHg and steady  -Barometric pressure is simply the weight of the air. It decreases with the approach of a storm brought on by low pressure. Imagine it as the palm of a giant hand easing up on the water’s surface. Its touch is lighter, the water volume isn’t as compressed, and fish can move about more easily and feed.
Wading to Bluegrass Island is possible
Clarity-8 inches
Sunrise : 7:40 AM (First cast)

A good starting point is to use darker more natural colors on this cloudy overcast day.  Kinda of a slow bite yesterday but we did see some singles and doubles come out of Bluegrass Island  -Buttonwood area. Not so much action yesterday at the  Jerome Rd  Rapids.  Today all access areas are accessible to fish.
Walleye have a highly sensitive lateral line that helps them pick up the smallest of vibrations. This sense is useful to locate erratic swimming baitfish or an artificial lure with an enticing swimming action. The larger Floating jigheads and 4″ tails -larger body equals better vibration. In deep or stained water and at night, where vision diminishes, walleye rely more on their lateral line senses. Walleye fishing is generally good during periods of stable weather because the fish maintain fairly predictable feeding and spawning  patterns. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, like this past weeks severe cold front,  there’s nothing you can do but adapt to the conditions.
