Maumee River
Now as the water level is down the action has slowed down a bit, we hvent had any rain if a few weeks. Once we do get some  rain the water level and current should pick up just enough to stimulate some of those leftover white bass. We have had reports of some stringers of white bass being taken in the faster water near bluegrass and Butttonwood area. We  now have lake Erie shiners available . All access areas are producing fish ,and a variety of baits are working. Rooster-tail and spinners and of course a minnow off the bottom. There were not very many anglers out on the river yesterday but those that made it out had a decent day. The early and midday bite  was a bit slower than the last few days but the guys that tried a variety of baits were able to get some fish.
Weather on the Maumee
- Walleye fishing has been slow, but is steadily improving as the weather gets better. The best catches have come from north of the Toledo Lighthouse, the Gravel Pit, “A†and “L†cans of the Camp Perry firing range, Green Island, Rattlesnake Island, and north of Kelleys Island.
- Most fish have been caught by trolling with crankbaits or worm harnesses, or by casting with weight forward spinners or mayfly rigs.
- Be safe , have fun and good luck fishing.
