Let’s stick with at least a 4 ft leader , longer seems to be working better.
Today
A chance of snow showers, mainly before 3pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 37. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 21 mph.
That rain should bring in a big push of fish from the lake .
When the river runs high near its banks, the flow is also going to increase and muddy water conditions occur. This will start pushing walleyes tight to shore and even up into shallow cover along the shoreline. Walleye push to the banks, structure, riprap, and current breaks to escape the river’s heavy current.
Try orleans park and white street access today, along the towpath are lots of open areas that should be good as the water level increases.
It’s only going to get better as the week progresses.
Have fun be safe and good luck fishing.
