BLUEGRASS ISLAND: Do not cross. Right now, first thing this morning, the river level is just a shade over 582. Tomorrow, Sunday we should be able to cross the Bluegrass. But for right now the water is still up just a little too much
Yesterday with those 60 mph winds it was tough. Those of you that went out are harcdore for real qualified fishermen.
Partly sunny, with a high near 43. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph. not bad.I’m gonna repeat what I sad the other day cause it applies again today. With this slightly high water a few of the best places to fish will be Orleans and White street–also along the Towpath and Ford Street access will be likely places to hit as well. Tactics have to be adjusted to catch fish in this high water- of course heavier weights are required to get that lure down to the fish , but also placement is key. Look for any slight break or eddy in the current- that’s where they are laid up.
Short cast , often they are close into shore.
Have fun, be safe and good luck fishing
