Yesterday we Had just about all conditions though out the day, cold in the morning, rain mid morning, then sunshine and warm by lunch–was a pretty good day of walleye fishing. We saw many limits brought in and plenty of singles and doubles.
Today the conditions should be steady all day -overcast and mid to high 50s. The rain from yesterday has brought the river level up a fw inches and increased the current, it is expected to slowly rise throuout the day, which should bring a fresh push of fish in from the lake and get the fish already in the river good and active.
Hotspots: Bluegrass Island , Buttonwood Park and Schroders areas were again the most productive yesterday . Fish were caught also along the towpath, Jerome rd rapids and ford st access. We did see a few caught at the Ft. meigs area as well. Word of caution -the ice a few years ago changed the bottom at the Ft. Meigs crossing and this year it seems to have changed another inch or two , so we are getting reports that guys 5’10” tall or less are not making across with out getting some overflow into their waders( I am 5’8″ and couldn’t make it over last year). Now this isn’t an exact science so if your around that height exercise caution when crossing.
All fishing areas are accessible today .
Weight:5/8- 3/4 oz with increased flow may need a bit heavier weight to touch bottom
Leader:36-48 inches
Colors: With the changing conditions we saw fish caught on a variety of colors all yesterday. Red head/ Pink sparkle tail – Green head / Motoroil tail – orange head / orange tail – black head/ berkley firetiger tail
