Im telling you , we have some ideal water conditions for river fishing.
Leadhead (1/8 oz)with a twister tail, cast and slow retrieve. Go about 10 casts then change colors . Once you find the right color the reaction should be pretty quick.
With these chilly nights the river temperature has cooled down about 10 degrees in the last week , this has the catfish, walleye and smallmouth reactivated and biting. We have seen anglers having success at the White street access.Ft Meigs and a little bit of everything( saugeye, walleye, white bass, small mouth and catfish) all being caught near the dam in Grand Rapids OH area.
Lake Erie night shore fishing:
This weekend we are going to have a few nice nights so may as well give it a shot. Lake Erie can produce some real monsters from November to mid December casting off shore / piers .The lake fills up with baitfish as early as October and the walleyes move get closer and closer as the colder months wear on. The success you have will vary from night to night, its fishing not catching .Bomber long A’s in all colors work great .Husky Jerks in brighter patterns and Smithwick P-10s are great baits.
Have fun , be safe and good luck fishing.
