The river has risen about 3.5 feet in the last 36 hrs or so. This opens up a bunch more fishing areas. Orleans park is now a good spot, Davis overlook, White street acess and all along the Towpath. Stop in the shop and we can point you in the right direction.
Saw a decent amount of limits early(first cast) and later in the day(last cast) . Midday was slow, lots of midday sucker and buffalo action.
This undulation of water will/is bringing in a fresh push of walleye from the lake . Also giving those here already a chance to mover further upriver towards Waterville and the Grand Rapids area.
The river should crest ( reach its highest point ) sometime today. Only gonna get better as the week goes on.
This higher water is also going to trigger some creek/river crappie action. Check out our crappie section, we have some good lures available.
Live bait-
Minnows, worms, waxworm.
Have fun be safe and good luck fishing
