Maumee River

Little bit of rain and thunder heading our way today, but we need it, espesially to wash away some of this cottonwood fluff and cool the water just a bit.

The catfish have been biting well the last few days.   Two types in the Maumee- Channel cats and Flatheads.  The flat heads are the ones that grow up to be big boys, 25 plus lbs is not uncommon and we see some 40-50 lbs beasts caught every summer.

The bluegill and crappie bite has been pretty good as well . Target that local pond or the mouth of a creek feeding into the river to get some nice crappies.

Smallmouth bass bite is also beginning  to improve  both in the river and the lake .
