Yesterday was a great day to fish , kayak and just plain be near the water.  Lots of big fish caught yesterday-the white bass are running big this year. A lot of 2+ pounders coming out of the river. Look at the featured photo, a beast at 5.25 lbs. Thought we had a state record white bass there for a minute.  -thats a hybrid white bass. looks almost identical to a white bass but for a few small differences and size of course. A hybrid striped bass, also known as a wiper or whiterock bass, is a hybrid between the striped bass(Morone saxatilis) and the white bass (M. chrysops). It can be distinguished from the striped bass by broken rather than solid horizontal stripes on the body.

Here is another beast caught yesterday!

Yesyerday was a great day to Kayak on the river. We are off to a great start to the kayaking season-we run 7 days a week (weather permitting of course) , walk ins are available but its best  its best to call ahead for a reservation.
