 AND HERE WE GOOOOO!

SUNRISE/ FIRST CAST-7:09 AM

SUNSET/ LAST CAST-6:24 PM

COLORS: A good rule of thumb on where to start is “bright colors on brighter sunny days / dark colors on the cloudy overcast days” Walleye don’t quite see colors the same way we see them. Keep in mind that we also have all colors available in the slightly larger 4 inch tails. More visible and gives a better vibration  in this murky water

WEIGHT: 1 oz and up

BLUEGRASS ISLAND:  Located in Sidecut Metropark – Way too high and dangerous to cross today-flowing fast and cold. This area is is very popular with it being  shallower and having many rock shelves you can stand and wade on to reach the deeper middle channel. Be very careful wading, because there are very deep drop offs.  We see many anglers join the “Maumee River Swim Team” in this area. The water also flows faster here because of the higher rockbed.

If your going to fish today -Orleans park in Perrysburg will be your best chance.

Today is the day the spring fishing spawning rules go into effect. As always regulation books are free here at the shop.

Walleye  bag limit – 6 fish per angler per day – 15 inch minimum

RIVER CONDITIONS: The Maumee is still too high difficult  to access most fishable areas. Probably will take a few days to see any numbers coming in.

We are watching the river and sending out scouts….with fishing poles.

Starting this Saturday March 4th we will begin our spring hours   6AM-8PM

Have fun, be safe and good luck fishing.
