maumee river report- 13 april 2025

Bluegrass Island-  might still be a shade high. Metro parks will check come daylight and make the determination.

The water has dropped quite a bit in the last few days. Folks were bangin ’em out pretty good yesterday. 

Now that the water is down it will good to hit Jerome rd rapids, Buttonwood campground,The Towpath , down by the pillars, Davis overlook and just about any likely spot.  Starting to get a bit low for orleans park . 

Here is a quick list of some local public access sites , if you are not familiar you are always welcome to stop in the shop for directions.

Maumee Side of river- Jerome rd rapids,Sidecut Metropark, Bluegrass Island crossings, The Towpath and White street access.

Perrysburg side of river- Orleans Park, Orleans hiking path, Ft Meigs, Davis Overlook, Buttonwood Campground.

Reliance on one’s own capabilities, judgment, or resources. While the idea of becoming a more self-reliant man or woman isnt as mainstream as it once was, I believe that learning how to develop self-reliance in your own life continues to be the key to getting ahead in life. I am proud to part of a community of oudoorsman that believe in self reliance to feed and take care of their families, while have a good time . So while your out there stocking up the freezer with fish , remember those that need some help- save a few fillets for the neighbor or elderly family friend that may be running a little short on supplies and drop a bag off every once and awhile.
