A general rule of thumb is that when you head out on a darker cloudy day a good place to start with your lures is with darker colors. The walleye see thing differently than us so the darker colors seem to stick out better when its cloudy out.

Then the rule of thumb for bright days is to start is with brighter colors.. I like to switch up colors after a dozen or casts just to see if I can find that one that is sparking their interest.

WEIGHT: 3/4oz-1oz

BLUEGRASS ISLAND: Blue Grass Island is closed to access once the water reaches 582 feet above sea level. This 582 number is basically the gauge we use as the “normal” river level.

With the high water and muddy, muddy banks many locations along the river are not accessible . White Street, Orleans Park, and Fort Meigs would be the best paces to get started.

Some of these fishing areas that I have mentioned may not be familiar to some of the newer walleye run anglers and out of towners, feel free to stop in the shop and we can point you in the right direction.

No walleye yet- water is warming.. 38 degrees is up a few from the last few days. A good sign.

SWIVELS_ I have a limited number of 100 counts of #7 crane swivels for sale – stop in quick.

Have fun, be safe and good luck fishing
