Matthew 4:18-22    The first 4 apostles were fishermen. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

Happy Easter everyone – Easter has become one of my favorite days to be in the shop. Peaceful. I like to hang out by the water ..with fishermen.

I am often reminded of a particular bible verse at this time of year when spring is in the air and the river is FULL of walleye.

Luke 5:4-7 “When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch. Simon answered,Master(Jesus), we’ve worked hard all night and havent caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets. When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.”

With out getting too theological I always take away two simple things from this. First – Even the Apostles themselves got skunked and needed Jesus help to catch some fish. And second that a good portion of Jesus friends were fishermen.

Like I said the river is full up with walleye. The water is up the last few days so just about all areas are accessible. With the brush being cleared along the towpath spread out and give it a shot. Catfish at white street and walleye at Orleans.

Seeing some female coming in regularly now.

Have fun , be safe and good luck fishing.
