Take a kid fishin’ ..start ’em early!
No walleye caught in the river as far as we know. Its early and cold . They will roll in steadily when those water temps get closer to that 40 degree mark.

From a few years back, but these pictures kinda show what an early walleye fresh from the lake looks like . Bone white.
Open 6a- 6p today.
Town music festival is going on today-a lot of the town will be blocked off, but the road to our shop will be open all day for access to the shop.
SUNRISE/ FIRST CAST-7:07 AM

WEIGHT: 1 oz- water is up and moving
BLUEGRASS ISLAND: Crossing is not permitted
While we are waiting for the water to warm and the walleye to move in here is some info:
A quick list of some local public fishing access sites, if you are not familiar with these locations you are always welcome to stop in the shop for directions.
Maumee Side of River: Jerome Rd Rapids, Sidecut Metropark, Bluegrass Island Crossings, The Towpath and White Street Access.
Perrysburg Side of River: Orleans Park, Orleans hiking path, Ft Meigs, Davis Overlook, Buttonwood Campground
We have a fresh batch of minnows ,green worms, big shad for catfish cutbait and nightcrawlers .
There is some sort of river myth fairy tale out there that live bait is not permitted during the spawning run- NOT TRUE..live bait is just fine. Some times a piece of juicy night crawler can spark a bite on a slow day.
Have fun , be safe and good luck fishing.
